eBay Medical or DA Medical

Posted by Scott Schlenk on

We are all judged by our associates and members of our group. We may not like it, it is just a fact of life. While we like to think we are at the top of any member group, we are usually just placed in the middle. What we do to rise to the pinnacle of that group takes time and results.

While I have sold in the secondary, independent med/surg market for over 25 years. I decided to join a subset of that group and join the eBay medical selling community in late 2000. For over 15 years my wife and I have sold under the eBay name amdamom. You can find us here:

Over that time frame we have sold over 1,000 items per year with little or no complaint. We would like to think we are able to achieve those results due to expertise, personal involvement, and a significant focus on quality.

We will likely continue to be a member of that eBay medical group, but I find the pitiful results of others hurting our ability to grow sales in that venue. Let me give you two recent examples from January 2016. Example one, I bought an Olympus OTV-S7 console from a Long Island, NY seller. The listing photos showed excellent cosmetics and digital inputs on the rear. The seller took 3 business days to ship and did not send the console shown online. His reply when I questioned adam_tech3 with the facts, stated actual units shipped may vary from the listing sold online. Personally, I hope Adam is still chiseling his car from the snowbank created from the recent snowstorm. Example two, I bought a nice Karl Storz Nova light source. Online photos showed a good bulb with no turret. I happen to have extra turrets in stock, so I bought the unit at a nice discount. Upon receipt, the red replace bulb light was flashing. Do I think this was bad luck? Absolutely not. I can’t imagine how many photos they took to get the a photo of the light source with no red light illuminated. I will be refunded for this purchase next week. These are my most recent eBay purchases with pitiful results.

I realize I am grouped with those two sellers despite our outstanding tenure at eBay. I can’t change the issue. I can just deliver the results and quality my customers deserve, whether it is on eBay or DA. Don’t judge us and compare us to the other dumb asses, judge us on our past results and current commitment.
